Inside True Touch

Inside > Q&A with Jacob

He’s answering the questions you’ve been asking.

Q: Okay, so question in every one’s mind is, how does a young man write, speak and minister to women?

A: Yes, the age-old question. To be honest, I’m just one man who listened to God’s call. Around five years ago, God began to use me to minister to people who were hurting, emotionally wounded, and broken. After a few times ministering, I noticed that my altar calls were flooded with women. Little by little a burden began to develop inside of me for women to be healed, and live victoriously in Christ. So God impressed in me to write a book. So, without any experience in reaching women, publishing a book, or launching a ministry, I stepped out in faith. Many odds were against me, and some still exist today, but through God’s grace I have had the privilege to minister to multitudes of women. It has been the Anointing, along with my own personal research, that has given me the ability to connect with women’s hearts and minds. Many still don’t understand it. But usually after reading my books, or hearing me speak, their opinions change.

Q: How has your wife played a role in your ministry?

A: My wife Cherie is awesome, a true gift from God. From the beginning, she has been 100% supportive of this ministry and has shared my passion. Without her, I would not be able to do what I do, no matter how anointed! People, especially women, are drawn to her character and glow. And although you may not see her preaching or standing behind the pulpit, rest assured she is fulfilling her ministry, and leading right along with me. Having to share me with crowds of people, and even my laptop, she ministers everyday.

Q: Is TrueTouch affiliated with another organization or denomination?

A: TrueTouch exists independent of any particular organization. Although I am licensed through an assembly of Apostolic churches, TrueTouch is a para-church effort whereby I can reach the world.

Q: What can you say about authoring, and publishing books?

A: Writing for me, comes naturally. That doesn’t mean that I don’t get “writer’s block” or struggle with articulating certain concepts, but writing in general very enjoyable for me. God really speaks through me as I write. Publishing a book is a whole other thing. To date, I have self-published my books, under the umbrella of TrueTouch and my original label, Bridge Press. The Woman’s Touch (2nd ed) was published by Xulon Press. My goal is to have my books published through a traditional publisher someday. But for now, I’ve mastered the art of self-publishing, and through God’s grace I have blessed a lot of peoples lives.

Q: Who are your mentors and inspirations?

A: Good question. My number one mentor is my father and pastor, Joseph Rodriguez. He has shaped me and invested into my ministry greatly. His relationship with God, and vision for ministry has been the best example for me. Outside of him, many different men and women of God inspire me. There isn’t one person whom I want to mimic, but I try to learn from as many great people as possible.

Q: Where is your ministry headed, and what plans do you have for the future?

A: Wow, so much to say. We have a lot of exciting things in the works. Because the Internet is the thrust of this generation, we soon will be launching more ministries online. (1) One in particular will be called “Called Woman”. It’s the Christian alternative to such sites as iVillage.com, offering everything from spiritual advice to health tips. It will be place for women to be edified, equipped and entertained. (2) Later on next year, we also plan to roll out a version for Christian men. In addition to launching these ministries, I’ll continue to do what I’ve been doing; hosting conferences, speaking, writing, etc.

Q: How about any more books?

A: Although I’m still marketing my latest book, The Lord’s Lady, my first book for men entitled “Hidden Kings”, will hopefully be out early 2007.
